CMC investigated studies of motorcycle accidents regarding potential safety benefits of C-ITS. We have investigated which type of accidents can be avoided by which applications and concluded which applications are potentially the most effective ones in improving safety. For the specific (German) accident database used, applications grouped as ‘Motorcycle Approach Indication / Motorcycle Approach Warning’ could be covering a large proportion of possible collision accidents involving motorcycles, and therefore merit a high priority.
