Experience our systems in action
Motorcycles are often overlooked in traffic. CMC aims to improve motorcycle safety by means of wireless communication between vehicles (and infrastructure). Such C-ITS systems could provide advance information or warnings to vehicle operators in case of critical situations. Also, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) can provide advanced warnings. CMC has developed basic specifications for a motorcycle ITS system. And now, evaluation of such systems in action, both C-ITS and ADAS, is possible for a selected group of people!
'Live' event
The Dekra Test Center at the Lausitzring, Germany (in between the cities of Berlin and Dresden) will provide the suitable location for the first 'live' evaluation of motorcycle C-ITS.
CMC will prepare several scenarios of interaction between a car and a motorcycle where C-ITS applications or ADAS will help to mitigate the chance of a collision. As a guest, you can experience these systems live by taking the first row seat, as passenger in one of the cars!
They day will also provide ample opportunity for interaction and asking questions and networking.

Background
The demo event is a culmination of earlier CMC activities, based on a use case driven approach as indicated in the overview below.
Scenarios
For the demo rides, CMC has focused on 3 cases with a high potential impact on safety. Both C-ITS and ADAS technologies will be part of the demo as indicated in the images below.
Crossing Traffic / Intersection Movement:
A car is entering an intersection but tends to overlook an upcoming motorcycle or has its the line of sight is obstructed. |
Left Turn:
A car is turning left but tends to overlook an upcoming motorcycle or has its line of sight is obstructed. |
Lane change / Longitudinal traffic:
A motorcycle intends to pass a line of slower traffic, but one of the vehicles ahead plans to make a manoeuvre. |
Additional research and study information
Over the last couple of years, CMC has studied and analysed a range of topics that are relevant for the development of motorcycle C-ITS. The demo event will be the perfect opportunity to dive into the latest insights! CMC will prepare special interest presentations throughout the day and will have information stands regarding:
The info stands will also provide the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the management and people behind CMC.
- Accident Analysis
- Rider Reaction Time
- Simulation of accident scenarios
- Technology in general / hard- and software
- C-ITS and ADAS technology to improve motorcycle safety
- Further research topics
The info stands will also provide the opportunity to ask questions and talk to the management and people behind CMC.
